Connecting AdWhispr to Claude, start to finish

TikTok is the least-served platform in the Claude ecosystem. Search for MCP connectors that touch ad platforms and you'll find plenty of Google options, a growing pile of Meta options, and almost nothing for TikTok, even though it's the channel where creative moves fastest and where watching competitors matters most. If you want to connect TikTok Ads to Claude, the shortlist is very short.

This guide is the full setup, start to finish: wire AdWhispr into Claude as a connector, link your TikTok Ads account through Business Center, and end up with an assistant that can research competitor TikTok ads, clone the best one for your brand, and launch a real campaign, all in one conversation. No code, about ten minutes, and most of that is TikTok's side of the paperwork.

What you get when you connect TikTok Ads to Claude

A quick word on what you're actually getting, because "TikTok MCP" can mean very different things depending on the server. With AdWhispr, the TikTok side of the toolset covers three jobs:

  • Research competitor TikTok ads. research_tiktok_ads pulls what other brands are running in a niche, so Claude can tell you which hooks and formats are winning before you spend anything. This works without connecting any ad account, it uses public ad data.
  • Clone a winning ad for your brand. clone_tiktok_ad rebuilds a proven ad's structure, hook, format, tone, pacing, around your product and your voice. You launch a pattern that already works instead of a guess.
  • Launch and manage real campaigns. launch_tiktok_campaign builds full TikTok campaigns, including a full video-ad builder, into your own ad account. After launch, get_account_performance, update_budget, pause_campaign, and resume_campaign handle the follow-through.

The research half and the execution half live in the same server, which is the part that's rare. We've written a full landscape piece on TikTok Ads MCP options and a step-by-step launch tutorial, so this post stays focused on the connection itself.

Step 1: Add AdWhispr as a connector in Claude

In Claude, go to Settings, then Connectors, then Add, then Add custom connector. Connectors are available on Claude.ai in the browser and in the desktop app.

Paste this as the connector URL:

https://adwhispr.com/api/mcp

Name it AdWhispr so it's easy to spot in the tool list. Click Connect, and Claude opens an AdWhispr sign-in window. Approve it and the connector goes green. It's a standard OAuth handshake: AdWhispr never sees your Claude conversation, and Claude never sees your AdWhispr password. No account yet? The free tier covers this, no credit card.

If Claude Code is your daily driver instead, one command does the same job:

claude mcp add --transport http adwhispr https://adwhispr.com/api/mcp

And if you prefer running the server locally, the npm package is adwhispr-mcp-server, and npx adwhispr-mcp-server config emits the config block.

To confirm it works, start a new chat and ask Claude to use AdWhispr to research a brand's ads. If it calls the tools and comes back with real ad data, you're live. If it answers from general knowledge, name AdWhispr explicitly in the prompt.

At this point the research and cloning tools already work. You only need the next step if you want to launch campaigns into your own account.

Step 2: Check your TikTok Business Center

TikTok requires an ad account bound to a Business Center, with an identity and a payment method attached, before anything can launch. This is true even for campaigns you intend to leave paused.

If you have never launched a TikTok ad manually, sort this out first. It is the most common reason a connection succeeds but a launch fails. The full checklist lives in our TikTok account connection guide.

Step 3: Connect your TikTok Ads account

Back in Claude, ask:

Connect my TikTok ad account.

That runs connect_ad_account and takes you through OAuth via TikTok Business Center. Approve it once. Then confirm what the connection can reach:

Which ad accounts can I launch into?

list_ad_accounts shows exactly what you're pointed at. Confirm it's the right account before spending. That's the whole setup: no API keys, no developer application, no token babysitting.

Six prompts to try first

Start with research, it's read-only and it's the fastest proof the connection works.

Research TikTok ads in the skincare space. What are competitors
running right now, and what do the winners have in common?
Show me [competitor]'s TikTok ads. Which ones have they kept
running the longest, and what's the hook on each?

Longevity is the signal we trust: brands don't keep paying to run losing ads. Then move to creative:

Clone that ad for my brand. Keep the hook structure and pacing,
but swap in my product and my brand voice.
Give me a second variant with a testimonial-style opening.

And once your account is connected, the execution prompts:

Launch that as a TikTok campaign. $50/day budget, targeting
US women 25-44, optimize for conversions.
How did the TikTok campaign perform this week? If it's healthy,
raise the budget to $80/day.

The single-prompt version of the whole loop genuinely works too: find the longest-running TikTok ad from a competitor, clone it, launch it, one message. For a deeper prompt-by-prompt walkthrough of that flow, see Launch TikTok ads from Claude.

The honest state of TikTok ad data in 2026

Worth knowing before you set expectations, because TikTok is not Meta.

TikTok's public ad library is limited. Meta's Ad Library shows every active ad from every advertiser, worldwide. TikTok's equivalent, the Commercial Content Library, is EU-focused: it exists because European law requires it, and coverage outside Europe is thin. TikTok's Creative Center is the other public window, and it shows top-performing ads rather than a complete library. So "show me everything this brand runs on TikTok" has structural limits that no tool can fully escape, which is why our TikTok competitor research guide leans on what's actually observable instead of pretending the gaps aren't there.

Generic reporting connectors mostly skip TikTok. The typical multi-platform MCP connector covers Google and Meta and stops there, and the ones that do include TikTok are execution-only: they can operate your account but have no concept of what competitors are running. If you're comparing, the Google Ads version of this setup shows how much more crowded that side of the ecosystem is.

No fabricated metrics. Ad platforms don't expose competitor CTR, CPC, or ROAS, so Claude won't print them through AdWhispr. What you get is verifiable: what's running, how long it's been running, and what the creative actually does.

Nothing spends without your instruction

A reasonable worry with any tool that touches a live ad account: connecting TikTok Ads to Claude does not let anything spend money on its own. Research uses public data and never touches your account. Launching a campaign happens only when you ask for one, with the budget you state, into the account you confirmed, and your assistant shows you the plan before it goes live. Budgets change when you say "change the budget," and campaigns pause when you say "pause." The connection is a capability, not an autopilot.

FAQ

Does TikTok have an ad library like Meta's?

Not really. Meta's Ad Library is global and complete for active ads. TikTok's Commercial Content Library is EU-focused, driven by European transparency law, and its Creative Center surfaces top-performing ads rather than everything. TikTok competitor research is still very possible, but it works from a narrower public window than Meta research does.

Can Claude launch TikTok campaigns?

Yes, once AdWhispr is connected and your TikTok Ads account is linked through Business Center. launch_tiktok_campaign is generally available and includes a full video-ad builder, so Claude can assemble the campaign, the targeting, and the video ad itself from a plain-language prompt, then put it live on your approval.

Do I need to connect an ad account just to research?

No. Researching what other brands run on TikTok uses public ad data and needs no account connection. Connecting through Business Center is only required to launch, and you can add it whenever you're ready.

Can I use my own video instead of a generated or cloned one?

Yes. You can point the launch at a video you have already uploaded to your TikTok asset library, so existing creative works fine.

The short version

Two connections, once each: paste https://adwhispr.com/api/mcp into Claude's connector settings, then link your TikTok Ads account through Business Center from inside the chat. After that, TikTok research, cloning, launch, and management all live in one conversation, on the platform the rest of the MCP ecosystem forgot.
