If you spend your day in Claude Code or Cowork, you can now run your ads from there too. AdWhispr is available as a Claude plugin called AdWhispr Ads & Marketing Agent. Install it once and Claude can research what your competitors are running, launch paused campaigns on five ad platforms, and review your results, without you leaving the terminal or the task you're in.

This post covers what a Claude plugin actually is, how to install ours, what it does for you, and the prompts to start with.

What is a Claude Code plugin?

Anthropic's Claude Code docs describe a plugin as a bundle that Claude Code "installs and loads as one unit." In plain terms, instead of connecting a service and then explaining to Claude how to use it well, you install one thing and get both.

The same plugin format also works outside the terminal. Per Anthropic's docs, you can add plugins from Customize > Plugins in claude.ai or the Claude desktop app, a plugin added there is saved to your account, and it loads in chat, Cowork and Claude Code. That's why the AdWhispr plugin shows up in Claude Code, Cowork and the Claude apps.

How to install the AdWhispr plugin

In Claude Code (terminal):

  1. Start Claude Code and run /plugin.
  2. On the Discover tab, type AdWhispr.
  3. Open AdWhispr Ads & Marketing Agent, read what it will install, and pick a scope (just you, this repo, or everyone on the repo).
  4. Ask Claude something that needs AdWhispr. The first time, it opens a browser sign-in to your AdWhispr account. No API key to copy. If you don't have an account yet, one is created for you on the free plan.

In Cowork or the Claude apps: open Customize > Plugins, search for AdWhispr on Discover, and add it. Then connect AdWhispr from the plugin's Connectors tab when Claude asks.

From there, just describe what you want in plain English.

What's inside the plugin

The plugin connects your AdWhispr account to Claude Code and Cowork, and comes with built-in guided workflows for the three jobs people do most:

  • Competitor research. Find the brands in your niche running ads right now and see their longest-running ads.
  • Turning winning ads into your own. Take a proven competitor ad and make it yours, starting from a shoot-ready TikTok script right in the chat.
  • Weekly campaign reviews. See real spend, clicks and conversions from your connected ad accounts, get one clear recommendation, and pause, resume or change budgets with a preview before anything changes.

Prefer to connect AdWhispr to Claude Code by hand instead? The Claude Code setup guide and the AdWhispr MCP for Claude Code walkthrough cover that route, using the address https://adwhispr.com/api/mcp. The plugin is the easiest way in.

Platforms you can launch on

Every launch works the same way. Claude shows a preview of exactly what it will create, you say yes, and it's created paused. Nothing spends until you tell Claude to resume it.

Platform What gets built
Meta (Facebook and Instagram) Campaign, ad set and ad from a clone in your library or your own images and videos, including carousels
Google Search Campaign, ad group, keywords and a responsive search ad, with optional click-to-call
Google Performance Max A full Performance Max campaign with assets generated from your brand profile
TikTok Campaign, ad group and video ad (the video has to be yours)
X Campaign, ad group and promoted post, with targeting and conversion optimization
ChatGPT Ads Campaign, ad group and a chat card ad, running as Maximize clicks

X and ChatGPT Ads are the difference from our Claude directory connector, which launches on Meta, Google and TikTok only. Setup details for each platform are in our docs for Meta, Google, TikTok and X.

Six workflows to try

Each one is a prompt you can paste as is. Swap in your own product and numbers.

1. The weekly campaign review

Monday review: how did my campaigns do last week? What's spending,
what's converting, and what's the one change you'd make?

Claude looks at your connected accounts, shows spend, clicks and conversions, and lists what's running. You get one recommendation, not ten. Numbers come only from your ad accounts. If you want to go further, our guide to reading performance and cutting wasted spend explains what to look for.

2. Competitor research

I sell refillable deodorant. Who are my competitors running ads
right now, and what are their longest-running ads?

Claude saves your business, then shows you the brands in your niche that are running ads right now. It doesn't guess names from memory. Then it sorts a brand's ads by days running, because nobody keeps paying for a losing ad for months. More on that in why days running is the signal to watch. For search, add "and what keywords should I bid on?", which we covered in competitor keyword research with AI.

3. Launch a paused Google Search campaign

Launch a Google Search campaign for my refillable deodorant,
$30/day, US only, using the best keywords from that research.

Claude builds the campaign, ad group, keywords and ad, shows you the preview, and waits. Say yes and it's created paused in your Google Ads account. Prefer Performance Max? Ask for it by name. See launching PMax from chat.

4. Budget changes, pause and resume

Pause the TikTok campaign. Move the Search campaign to $45/day.

Pausing happens right away because it only stops spend. Budget changes and resumes are two steps: Claude shows what will change and asks before doing it. Resuming is the moment real money starts moving, so Claude says so every time.

5. Launch on X

Connect my X ads account, then launch a $20/day campaign promoting
this post: "Refills ship in 100% paper. Your bathroom shelf will thank you."
Target the US and UK, ages 25 to 34.

Claude sends you a sign-in link for X, then builds the campaign, ad group and promoted post together, all paused. A sales or leads goal optimizes for conversions on your X pixel if you have one. X requires a payment method in your X Ads account before anything can run. Our X docs cover the details.

6. Launch on ChatGPT Ads

Launch a ChatGPT Ads campaign for my deodorant: $25/day, US,
for people asking about aluminum-free deodorant that actually works.
Use my latest image from the Creative Library.

ChatGPT Ads connects differently. You create an Ads API key in your ChatGPT Ads Manager and paste it on a page on adwhispr.com that Claude links you to. Never paste it into the chat. Claude then writes the chat card copy, turns your description into context hints, and creates the campaign, ad group and ad paused. Every new ad goes through OpenAI's review before it can show. Our ChatGPT Ads guide walks through it.

What the plugin doesn't do

  • Make image or video ads inside the chat. On the plugin, cloning a competitor ad into a finished image or video happens in the AdWhispr web app. The result lands in your Creative Library and Claude launches it from there. Shoot-ready TikTok scripts do work in the chat.
  • Show competitor CTR or ROAS. Public ad libraries don't publish those numbers, so neither do we.
  • Spend money on its own. Everything is created paused and every launch waits for your yes.

What it costs

The plugin is free to install. It uses your AdWhispr plan:

Plan Price Agent calls a month Image clones a month Video credits a month
Free $0 15 1 0
Pro $39/mo 150 10 15
Plus $69/mo 1,000 25 25
Agency $149/mo 3,000 50 40

Brands and ad accounts are unlimited on every plan: connect as many ad accounts as you want on Meta, Google, TikTok and the rest, with no per-account fees. The free plan covers research and connecting your ad accounts; launching, managing campaigns and reading your account's performance need Pro or above. On paid plans, launching, pausing, budget changes and reading your own results don't use agent calls. Researching new brands and making creative do.

FAQ

Is there a Claude Code plugin for marketing and ads?

Yes. AdWhispr Ads & Marketing Agent adds competitor ad research and campaign management for Meta, Google, TikTok, X and ChatGPT Ads. Run /plugin in Claude Code and search AdWhispr.

Does the plugin work in Cowork?

Yes. Add it from Customize > Plugins in claude.ai or the desktop app, and it loads in your Cowork tasks.

Do I need an API key?

No. You sign in to AdWhispr in the browser the first time. Your ad accounts connect through each platform's own sign-in, except ChatGPT Ads, which uses a key you paste on adwhispr.com, never in the chat.

What's the difference between the plugin and the Claude directory connector?

Same research and launching, plus X and ChatGPT Ads on the plugin, plus built-in guided workflows. The directory connector is the one-click option for claude.ai chat. Our run ads from Claude guide compares all the ways in.

Can I use it on a client's ad account?

Yes, if you have access to that account on the ad platform. Connect it the same way and it shows up alongside your own accounts.

How many ad accounts can I connect to AdWhispr?

As many as you want. Every AdWhispr plan, including Free, lets you connect unlimited ad accounts on each platform, and there is no per-account fee. Many other tools cap the number of ad accounts by plan.
