It takes about a minute, and there is one thing to get right: link the store before you choose a paid plan in Shopify. This guide explains why, and how to do it.

Why the app starts empty
AdWhispr is on the Shopify App Store and installs into your Shopify admin as an embedded app. When you install it, it starts a fresh account for the store.
That is the right default. Most people installing from the App Store have never used AdWhispr, and a new store should get a clean account built around its own catalog. During setup the app syncs your products, builds a brand profile from the store and finds competitors that are advertising right now.
But if you have been using AdWhispr elsewhere, that fresh account is not the one you want. The brands you have been tracking, the creatives you have made and the plan you are on all live in your existing account. The store does not know about it until you link the two.
What you get by linking
Linking joins the store to your existing AdWhispr account, so there is one account behind every place you use the product.

AdWhispr is the same product on adwhispr.com and inside Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Shopify. Once the store is linked, it does not matter where you start a piece of work. Research a competitor in Claude in the morning, and that brand is tracked when you open the app in your admin in the afternoon.
How to link your store
1. Install the app. Get AdWhispr from the Shopify App Store and let setup run. It takes about a minute. The app only needs permission to read your products. It does not read your customers or your orders.
2. Find the card inside the app. After installing, a card in the app offers to link the store to an existing AdWhispr account.
3. Sign in to your existing account. Use the same login you use for AdWhispr on the website. This is the step that proves the account is yours.
4. Check that your work is there. Back in the app, ask the agent something only your existing account would know.

If the answers match what you see elsewhere, the store is linked.
Link before you choose a paid plan in Shopify
This is the one part of the process that is order-sensitive, so it is worth a clear explanation.
Plans chosen in Shopify are billed through your Shopify bill. A store with an active Shopify subscription stays on the account that pays for it. In practice that means if you install the app, pick a paid plan on the fresh account and only then try to link, the store is already tied to the account carrying that subscription.
So the order to follow is:
- Install the app.
- Link the store to your existing account using the card.
- Only then decide whether you need to choose a plan in Shopify at all.
If you already have a plan on your existing account, you bring it with you when you link, so there is usually no reason to pick a second one. During setup, when you reach the plan step, choose Free if you intend to link. Free adds no charge to your Shopify bill, so it leaves the store free to join your existing account.
If you have already chosen a paid plan in Shopify on the fresh account and want to be on your existing account, remember that uninstalling the app cancels the Shopify subscription. Get in touch with us first and we will point you to the cleanest path.
The four plans, for reference
Whichever account your store ends up on, the plans are the same four. On Shopify they are billed through your Shopify bill:
- Free, $0: 15 agent calls a month, 1 free image clone, unlimited tracked brands and full ad library access. No video credits.
- Pro, $39 a month: 150 agent calls, 10 image clones and 15 video credits.
- Plus, $69 a month: 1,000 agent calls, 25 image clones and 25 video credits.
- Agency, $149 a month: 3,000 agent calls, 50 image clones, 40 video credits and team seats.
Yearly billing on Shopify is $375 for Pro, $660 for Plus and $1,428 for Agency. Video ads need a paid plan on any surface.
What to do once you are linked
A linked store is where an existing AdWhispr account becomes most useful, because the agent now has your product catalog next to everything you already built.
Put your tracked competitors against your real products.
