What this error means

Google does not allow Video (YouTube) campaigns to be paused, resumed or edited through its advertising API. Every status or budget change on one of those campaigns returns this error, from any tool. Search, Performance Max and Smart campaigns in the same account can be changed normally.

Whose side it is on

Google's rule. There is nothing to fix in the account or in AdWhispr.

How to fix it

  1. Open the campaign in Google Ads and make the change there: pause, resume or edit the budget.
  2. Do not retry in the chat; it will keep failing for that campaign.

A similar lock applies to experiments (a trial attached to a base campaign): Google locks the trial's status, dates and budget. Change the base campaign instead, or end the experiment in Google Ads first.

Relaunch

Nothing to relaunch. Your other campaigns in the account keep working from the chat.

Frequently asked questions

Can AdWhispr launch YouTube campaigns?

No. From the chat, Google launches are Search and Performance Max.

Can I still read the Video campaign's performance?

Yes. Reads work; only changes are blocked.
