What this error means

You asked for a radius around an address, and Meta could not place that address on the map. Meta does the geocoding itself, and it rejects addresses that are incomplete or ambiguous: a street without a number, a neighborhood name, a business name without a street, or a city that exists in several countries.

Whose side it is on

Yours: the address text in the launch.

How to fix it

  1. Give the full street address: street and number, city, and country. "2100 South Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas, United States" rather than "South Lamar, Austin".
  2. Drop anything that is not an address: suite names, "near", the business name.
  3. If Meta still cannot place it, target the city or region instead of a radius: "target Austin, Texas". The chat looks up the location and applies it.

Relaunch

Run the same launch with the corrected address, or with the city. The radius (1 to 80 km) can stay as you set it.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use a postcode instead of an address?

A postcode alone is often ambiguous. Combine it with the street, city and country.

Why does the launch drop my country when I add a radius?

The circle is the whole geography on Meta. When you give an address, other location settings are not combined with it.

Does a housing or jobs ad have a minimum radius?

Yes, 15 miles (about 25 km). Ask for 25 km or more on those ads.
