What this error means
Google does not allow two active or paused campaigns with the same name in one account, and one with this name already exists. Often it was created by an earlier attempt: a launch that stopped at a policy rejection, or one you ran twice. The chat checks for this before creating anything, so this error is now rare.
Whose side it is on
Yours: the name, or an existing campaign you may have forgotten.
How to fix it
- Ask the chat to list the campaigns in the account and find the one with this name.
- If it is the campaign you wanted, resume or edit that one instead of creating another.
- If you really want a second campaign, launch again under a different name.
AdWhispr never renames a launch automatically. When you relaunch a live campaign by mistake, this block is what stops a silent duplicate and double spend.
Relaunch
Run the launch with the new name, or resume the existing campaign.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the existing campaign have no ads?
A launch that failed part way (for example at a policy rejection) can leave a campaign shell. Since 2026-08-28 such shells are rolled back automatically. For an older one, edit it in Google Ads or launch under a new name.
