What this error means

TikTok clears each ad account to advertise in certain countries, and the launch targeted one the account is not cleared for. When you name no location, the chat targets the country your ad account is registered in, so this usually appears when a launch explicitly names another country.

Whose side it is on

TikTok's clearance for the account. Nothing is wrong with the video or the campaign.

How to fix it

  1. Name a country you are cleared for, usually your own: "target the United Kingdom". The chat looks up TikTok's location id and checks the account can target it before the preview.
  2. If you need the other country, ask TikTok (through Ads Manager support or your TikTok representative) to clear the account for it.

Relaunch

Run the same launch with the allowed country. Everything else stays the same.

Frequently asked questions

Which countries am I cleared for?

Ask the chat to look up a location on TikTok; it validates it against your account's targetable locations and tells you if it is not allowed.
