What this error means

Before an ad account can create its first Custom Audience, Meta requires the account admin to accept the Custom Audience terms. Accounts that have ever created an audience have done this already; a fresh account has not, so the first audience request from AdWhispr is refused.

Whose side it is on

Yours: a one-time acceptance in Meta for that ad account.

How to fix it

  1. Open the acceptance page the chat links; it opens for the affected ad account.
  2. Accept the Custom Audience terms.
  3. Return to the chat.

Relaunch

Ask for the audience again, for example "build a retargeting audience of my website visitors from the last 30 days". It is created immediately and fills over the next hours.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to accept for every audience?

No. Once per ad account.

Do I need to accept for lookalikes too?

Yes, the same terms cover website-visitor audiences and lookalikes.
